Legal information
Terms of use
Last updated: August 28, 2026
1. Acceptance
By accessing www.mekaavocat.ca and its language versions, you accept these terms of use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
2. Nature of the site
The site is published by MEKA AVOCAT INC. (“the firm”, “we”). It presents the firm, its practice areas and general legal information, and allows you to book and pay for a consultation online, as well as to settle an amount agreed with the firm.
The content of the site is provided for general information only. It describes rules that apply broadly, not the answer to one particular case, and does not constitute legal advice.
3. No lawyer-client relationship
Consulting the site, submitting a contact form, using an automated tool made available on the site or paying online creates no lawyer-client relationship and carries no protection under professional secrecy.
A professional relationship arises only when the firm confirms in writing that your mandate is open, after verifying, among other things, the absence of any conflict of interest.
We recommend that you do not send confidential or sensitive information before that confirmation.
4. Automated tools and artificial intelligence
The firm may make available on the site automated tools intended to guide visitors: a conversational assistant, a qualification form, a content search engine, an estimation tool or any comparable device, whether or not it relies on artificial intelligence techniques. This article applies to any such tool from the moment it goes live, without any need to amend these terms.
Such a tool is an aid to navigation and orientation. It provides no legal service, has no legal value and in no way replaces consulting a lawyer. Its answers may be generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies, omissions or outdated information.
Only services rendered by the lawyer handling your file, a member of the Barreau du Québec, constitute legal services. Using an automated tool creates no lawyer-client relationship, and exchanges within it are not covered by professional secrecy.
Those exchanges may be processed by third-party technology providers, including outside Quebec. We recommend that you do not submit sensitive personal information or confidential documents through them.
The firm may add, modify, suspend or withdraw any such tool at any time, without notice.
5. Content provided “as is”
The content of the site is provided “as is”, without warranty or condition of any kind. The firm does not warrant its accuracy, completeness or currency. The law changes: a text that was accurate when published may cease to be. Each text carries a last-updated date.
6. Accuracy of the information you provide
You undertake to provide accurate, complete and current information when using the site, in particular when booking a consultation, paying online or submitting a form.
7. Electronic communications
Email and the site’s forms are not deemed secure means of communication. You agree that the firm may send you communications concerning your request electronically. For sensitive exchanges during a mandate, the firm may agree with you on a more secure channel.
8. Prohibited uses
You may not use the site for unlawful purposes, extract its content in bulk by automated means, compromise its security or availability, impersonate a third party, or transmit malware.
9. Intellectual property
The texts, images, graphic elements, logos and code of the site are protected and remain the property of the firm or its licensors. Reproduction or reuse, in whole or in part, is prohibited without prior written authorization, except for short quotations with attribution and a link to the source page.
“MEKA AVOCAT” and “Labo Legal” are marks used by the firm.
10. Links to third-party sites
The site links to official sources and to third-party sites, including labolegal.ca. These links are provided for convenience. The firm exercises no control over their content and assumes no responsibility for it.
11. Availability
The firm does not warrant that the site will be available without interruption or free of error. It may suspend access, in whole or in part, in particular for maintenance.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law and subject to the rules governing the legal profession, the firm cannot be held liable for damages arising from use of the site, its unavailability, a decision taken in reliance on its content, or the use of an automated tool.
13. Indemnification
You agree to hold the firm harmless from claims arising out of your use of the site in breach of these terms.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law applicable in Quebec. Any dispute falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the judicial district of Montréal.
15. Changes
The firm may amend these terms at any time. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its update date shown above.
